Rabbit Interactive Conference Wood Green, 1st September 2012
The RWAF has been holding an annual conference since 2002, and this year we thought it was time for something very different - something hands on, something more than just sitting in a lecture theatre. So we've come up with Rabbit Interactive. We're very excited about it and sure that you won't want to miss it!
Another difference this year is that we are holding the conference at Wood Green Animal Shelter's Godmanchester Centre, where their fantastic facilities make it possible to hold a series of lectures and master class workshops.
All of the lecturers are world-class rabbit experts. As always, there will be two streams - a vet stream and an owners stream, so that all those attending will get a programme tailored just for them. (Vets and nurses will be able to obtain up to 7 hours of CPD at the conference, and a certificate will be issued at the end of the day.)
On the day of the conference, registration will begin at 8.30am with lectures starting at 9.30 and ending at 5.30pm.
The delegate fees will be:
Vet Stream
Member - £130
Non Member - £180
Owners stream
Member - £60
Non Member - £90
The conference has always been a sell-out, so please book your places now. Bookings must be received by 17th AUGUST 2012
Mad Hoppers Tea Party
AND as if that isn't enough, a Mad Hoppers Tea Party is planned for the evening before, Friday 31st August, from 7pm to 11pm, also at Wood Green.
Everyone is welcome; you do not need to be attending the conference to book a place at the Tea Party (or vice versa). Although it's always nice to get together with other like minded bunny lovers, we also want the evening to be useful, so there will be after dinner talks by leading behaviourist Dr Anne McBride and RWAF veterinary advisor Richard Saunders.
As it is a couple of weeks before Rabbit Awareness Week, there will also be a 'Top 10 Tips for dealing with the media' presentation by Burgess - this will be useful for any vet, vet nurse, rescue, or rabbit advocate who is called upon to give media interviews.
Tickets for the Mad Hoppers Tea Party cost £30, or £25 if purchased in conjunction with a conference place. Price includes a meal (please mention any dietary requirements when booking)
Trade stands
The trade stand area is open to everyone - you do not need to have a place at the conference to visit the trade stands on the day. (There is no entry fee for the trade stand area). Burgess will be there, along with Runaround, the RSPCA and others. Wood Green is holding its Rabbit Awareness Week events including willow ball making and story time, and Galens' Gardens will be on hand to talk about bunny friendly gardens.
Burgess sponsorship
Burgess Pet Care has once again kindly sponsored the conference leaflets, delegate packs, lecture notes and advertising of the conference.
